Where you used to walk into a box and only encounter Reebok Nanos & Nike Metcons, there is now a bit of variety! When an entire Men's podium is filled with athletes wearing the TYR shoes during the 2023 Crossfit Games, we would of course like to offer this to you! You have been able to buy the TYR Crossfit shoes from us since November 2023 and since not everyone is familiar with TYR, we have tested them extensively and have listed our findings for you.

Size & Fit

The first thing you notice when trying on the shoe is that the shoes run small. Where I normally wear a 42.5 from almost all sports / sneaker brands, I now wear a size 43 1/3. Fortunately, we are getting a better idea of ​​how much smaller they are, so if you have any doubts about your size, please contact us! It is also noticeable that the forefoot fits closely around your foot and that your heel is firmly secured when tying your shoe. Very pleasant because with other models I sometimes had the feeling, after breaking them in, that you were swimming in the shoes due to an excess of play!

How do they do during different training sessions?

Crossfit WODs

We have been testing the TYR CXT-1 trainers for 4 months now and can officially say that we have become fans. The shoes give you a nice combination of stability and mobility. By this I mean that they feel stable during your strength & weightlifting exercises but do not feel 'clunky' during exercises such as shuttle runs, box jumps or sprints. You can run with them for a while, but you lack the cushioning for long distances. I personally keep them on up to 400m, while with my Nike Metcon's I found a maximum of 200m comfortable.
